ok, so i’m home and my mom tells me that they replaced the original playscape wood with this plastic stuff that’s supposed to look like wood (it did not by the way, it looked like brown plastic, they lost the old wood look i loved) so i thought "huh, i should go over and take a look"...

i knew my signature from one of the towers would be most likely gone, but i could accept that, but what i saw made me cry. Here’s a list of the things i enjoyed as a kid that they took down:

both the moving stages<<< the jerks those were awesome!

both the wide metal slides and the metal tube<<< so pissed off they replaced the wide one with this crappy plastic tube slide that i can barely slide down on. the metal slide ruled since you could climb up it and sit up when you slide down. now you can't do that!!!

the tire horse<<< tires in the shape of a horse, a great idea that uses old materials.

the two poles that stretched horizontally<<<THOSE WERE FUN!!! i wanted to cross those

the wooden tank<<< where are these kids supposed to have they’re secret base now!!!

the flying carpet<<< it was this cool carpet-like bridge you'd walk over.

the talk booths<<<they were these 3 cool wooden boxes you could talk into and communicate with people who were at the other booths. so cool.. how dare they take those away

the tire path<<<SO ANGRY!!! IT WAS THE SECOND BEST PART OF THE PLAYSCAPE!!! I WAS NEVER TALL ENOUGH WHEN I WAS LITTLE, AND NOW I'LL NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN!!!

and finally the absolute best part, they took down the wooden pass over bridge.<<< it was a high triangle shape bridge tunnel and it had banisters on the top so you wouldn't fall off if you went on top of it. plus it had THE BEST view of the whole playscape. now what did they replace it with? a climbing wall with 4 spots to grab... it made me so freaking sad.

i can understand that wood rots so they needed to fix a lot of it, but...
THEY KILLED THE PLAYSCAPE... THEY REALLY DID...

ok, no, I’m not really crying, but i am mad/sad as hell. i talked to my mom about if there was anything i could do to get them to change it back and she said no, its already done. if i ever meet the person in charge, i'm telling them that what they did to the playscape was terrible since the new design is really rather boring. i can see preschoolers having fun but once they hit 10, videogames will claim them, for videogames are more imaginitive then this place is now.

sigh....

ok well i better get back to working on concept art! Yes yes! concept art!!! i'm doing it so i can have character and background reference for senior year. they will be --brace your self-- in color!!! with my horrible Photoshop coloring :muhaha: i'm going to start with the less important characters first since i figure if i only do the main characters i'm going to get tired and not do the others out of shear impatience.
also scripting will be done!!! and story outlines (not in that order obviously )

not sure if the comics will be colored, but i figure it would be a good idea at least to know what color everything is. well i don’t know, do people like colored comics or is B/W like the way to go

oh and i'll post the outlines once they're done since well... I AM A CRAPPY AS HELL WRITER (i have the courage to admit it)...O.O and crits would be marvelous...

i believe the imaging center at my school charges 1.50 for color as long as its smaller then 11 by 17, but i need to double check this.
